Richard & Emma Westwood, Longlands pupils from 1979 to 1984, are now married and live in Dubai.

They first met on the step of Mr Fraser's math's classroom. If the Longlands buildings are eventually demolished, Richard and Emma hope to acquire the step for their garden.

Poem suggested by Joan Baggott, Longlands pupil 1953 to 1957

1000 Visitors?

We lost count of the number of people who came to the reunion, but it surely ran into many hundreds - possibly even a thousand or so. There were even visitors from as far away as Dubai and Canada! I think it all made a fitting goodbye to the old buildings. It certainly stands as a testament to both the school and the staff who have worked there over the years.

Acknowledgements and Thanks

I am very grateful to Mags Winthrop, Stourbridge College's Communications Coordinator, and to Margot James MP for helping to make this reunion possible.

Shane Whittaker from Canada

Shane, originally from Australia, came to Stourbridge as a child. He attended Longlands in the 1970s; and after leaving in 1976, he eventually moved to Canada. We're glad to say Shane came all the way back to Stourbridge for the reunion!
